Ulverston Fallen: World War I
The Menin Gate in Ypres (Ieper) is inscribed with the names of 54,000 soldiers, including 10 from Ulverston, with no known grave who fell in the Ypres salient during the Great War. The Last Post has been sounded at the Menin Gate at 20:00 every evening since 1928, only interrupted for the duration of the Second World War.
